WHY EXCELLENCE?

Organisations that apply the Excellence Method have managed to do their homework by clarifying these questions shortly and precisely:

Why now?

The answer points in the direction of concrete wishes for profit improvement on the fourfold bottom line where the Excellence Method is chosen to avoid earlier experiences with strategic sub-optimisation.
As inspiration, you can find three examples below from different organisations that applied the Excellence Method after a clear definition of their WHY.

“Because we have a need for increased profitability without comprising with our values!”

A fund owned industrial organisation with 9.000 employees had a requirement to increase their profitability. The Excellence Method was used as a competitive model where the management applied it to optimize the organisation and to create an internal pressure to make the organisation get in line with – and overtake – the competing listed companies that received a continuous pressure from the stock market.

“Because we need to develop our employee culture to become customer oriented, simultaneously with an implementation of overall management rather than uncoordinated strategic initiatives.”

The Excellence Method was applied to create a new culture in an established service company with 20.000 employees where everyone became productive team players. The organisation turned from being a combat culture to a customer culture, from being introvert to extrovert.

“Globalization – Because we have more to offer!”

A smaller service organisation had ambitions to go from a Danish market to a global market. Based on the Excellence Method, the management and employees developed a process-oriented organisation, which was able to work globally. Simultaneously, the organisation became visible in the network of EFQM in Europe, which was the first market in a global development.

The Excellence Model – Qualities, benefits, and profit

It is important to mention that the Excellence Method is created for organizations that are able to deliver value through coordinated processes. This approach matches the current need for a new management model and principles that can handle the demand of fast organizational adaption to current demands from globalization, digitalization, management of the Y-generation etc.
In relation to the new view of a more modern organizational design, it has come to a breaking point with the silo thinking, outdated economic models, irrelevant KPIs and not least a management practice, which has been developed to keep up with new talents.
The genius thing about using Excellence is that you, in terms of management, are able to survey the complex situations by finding connections to how a new strategy will have an organisational effect. Therefore, you can make a reasonably coordinated staging of the concrete activities, which will be both elegant and robust.
Furthermore, the Excellence Method is based on creating continuously improvements and learning. This will be obvious when you begin to apply the Excellence Glasses and the strategic ABC.
Learning and innovation is a good team.

  • What is your strategic ambition?
  • How will the Excellence Model be able to help you accomplish this ambition without strategic sub-optimization and instead implement a sharper and more precise leadership, which is visible with both employees and within the organization?

In the end, it is more enjoyable to succeed and create pride than to be among the 80% who did not manage to execute….
